BBQ Marinated Pumfu

Fire up the grill and throw on some slabs of BBQ Pumfu!

Homemade BBQ marinade takes Pumfu to a whole nother level. Perfect for the summer grill outs or really anytime you're craving classic BBQ vibes. Get a couple blocks and try this recipe out this weekend!


  • 3 blocks Pumfu
  • 2 TBSP granulated garlic
  • 1 TBSP granulated onion
  • 3 TBSP dark chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp chili flakes or to taste
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 TBS maple syrup
  • 1½ TBS mustard
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (optional)


  • Slice/ cube Pumfu according to preference
  • Whisk ingredients together in a medium saucepan
  • Submerge the Pumfu slices/ cubes in the marinade
  • Bring to boil on medium to high heat. Boil for 5 minutes. Turn down to simmer and cook for about 2 hours
  • • Store Pumfu slices in marinade until use. Will keep up to 7 days in refrigerator or you can freeze individual pieces of Pumfu for later use

**PRO TIP – This basic recipe for Pumfu is a building block for multiple Pumfu recipes. It is beneficial to do a larger quantity and have it frozen for convenient later use
