Pumfu French Toast

Pumfu French Toast

A StrongWill family traditional recipe!

Hands down better than conventional eggy tasting French toast. Pumfu french Toast is mouthwateringly delecious and if you have not tried it you are missing out! Amazing on Sunday morning with fresh berries and vegan whipped cream!

Ingredients

  • 1 block Pumfu
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 3 TBSP maple syrup
  • ¼ cup of neutral oil, such as sunflower oil + additional oil for frying
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Sliced slightly stale bread

Instructions

  • Crumble Pumfu and add it along with the water, maple syrup, oil, cinnamon, vanilla and salt to the blender
  • Blend for 3-5 minutes
  • The consistency should be thick like sour cream, if it tastes grainy, blend batter for a few minutes longer
  • Pour batter into a wide, shallow dish
  • Dip the sliced bread into batter, make sure each side has been covered fully
  • Heat neutral oil in a sauté pan (several tablespoons, so that it’s about 1/8”)
  • Cook bread until it has a golden brown sear, about 3-5 minutes each side

**Serves 6 people **PRO TIP – make extra and freeze the batter. Simply defrost and you’ll be French toast ready any day of the week!
